The setup session

AI tool setup for small businesses

A working setup, done with you on a screen share rather than handed over as a document. You do the clicking, the accounts stay in your name, and the session ends with them running on real work of yours.

People call this AI tool setup, Claude or ChatGPT onboarding, or just getting the thing actually working. Same idea: someone sitting with you until it runs and you know why it does what it does.

What actually happens

  1. We start from real work

Not a feature tour. You bring the jobs you actually do every week: the drafting, the summarising, the email you rewrite every Monday. The session is built around those.

  2. We set it up together, live

Screen share, your machine, your account. You do the clicking, because watching someone else set it up teaches you nothing you will remember the following week.

  3. You finish the session using it

It ends with the thing working on something of yours, not on a demo. If it does not work on your real job, it has not been set up.

What you leave with

An account in your name

Set up under your own billing, so nothing depends on us keeping a login for you.

Prompts written against your own work

Not a generic library you have to adapt. The ones written during the session, on the jobs you brought to it.

Settings that match your restrictions

What can go in, what cannot, and an account configured to match. If your contracts or your regulator rule something out, that shapes the setup rather than being discovered afterwards.

A way of working you can repeat

The point is that you can do the next one without us. If you need us for every subsequent task, the session did not work.

The standard every setup meets

Off the shelf, in your account, on your machine. We will not ask you for a password, an API key or any other credential at any point, and we do not build anything custom that only we know how to maintain. If the honest answer is that a job should stay human, we say so rather than automating it badly.

How it is priced

The setup session is quoted separately from the audit, and it is a separate decision. Nobody is signed up to it by doing the audit, and there is no retainer behind either of them. If you want the recommendations put in place, that is a conversation we have after you have the report and can see what is actually worth doing.

Who this is for

A good fit

  • One to thirty people
  • Owner-led, so the person in the session can decide
  • Willing to do the clicking rather than watch
  • Anywhere in the world, in English

Not a fit, and we will say so

  • You want it configured for you and handed over. The account staying in your name is the point, not a formality.
  • You want software built on top of it. We set up things you can buy on Tuesday and use on Wednesday.
  • The tooling would need sign-off elsewhere before anything could change.

If you are not sure yet, the audit is the cheaper way to find out. It names what is worth setting up before anyone sets anything up.

Start with the audit

Most setup sessions follow an audit, because the audit is what works out whether Claude or other tools are the right thing to set up at all. The intake form takes about five minutes and tells us both whether this is a fit.
